Summer Vacation

August 20, 2010

I just got back to work after six glorious (but non consecutive) days off.  We took two mini vacations in state and had some really good times.   The first was at a camp on Randall Pond in Parsonsfield near the NH border and the second was in the Pemaquid Point area.
For anyone reading this […]

HMS Bounty

May 23, 2010

This morning I took a drive up to Bath to shop for building materials at the Habitat for Humanity Restore.  I haven’t been having any luck at the Portland location lately so I decided to go take a look at the midcoast region’s inventory.
Driving up 295 I heard on the radio that the (replica) Tall […]

Spring Projects List

May 4, 2010

Spring is a busy time.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a fence to rebuild, a garden to plant, gutters to fix, windows to wash, ice cream to eat, a garage to clean, picnics to have, fairy huts to make, a five year old birthday party to plan, walks on the beach to […]

New Years Nor’easter

January 5, 2010

Every big storm has to have a catchy name.  That way the tv networks can refer back to it for years to come as a way of patting themselves on the back for their “award winning coverage”.  The truth is, we really don’t need the amount of dedicated airtime or the silly graphics that they […]

Milestones

October 1, 2009

Last night at the Rec Center Izzy swam on her own.  I don’t mean like when I let go of her the split second before she reaches the side.  I mean she really swam on her own.  I knew that it would come to her eventually and that it would be sudden, but it happened […]

Super Model

May 27, 2008

Every parent thinks their child is the cutest kid that ever lived. Thats just the way it is. So when you think that way, and you see all these print ads and commercials for baby products, you can’t help but think - “Hey, my kid is cuter than that kid. We should […]

Pacifier Fairy

April 28, 2008

Seen here is a Soothie brand pacifier made from medical grade silicone.  I am a little embarrassed to say this, but up until this weekend, my daughter relied on one of these to fall asleep at night.  Its not like she had to bring it every where she went, in fact for more than a […]
